This weekend I’ve finally submitted my PhD proposal, now I have my fingers crossed that it makes the grade.
It’s been a hard but interesting few weeks getting acclimatised to the ways of academic research, but it’s definitely been worth it. Thanks to Sylvester Arnab (my director of studies), Richard Hillier, Alan Richards, and Jonathan Shaw for their feedback and support in this process thus far.
I want to say an extra big thank you to Richard Hillier for his support and patience explaining the many aspects of PhD-level research over the last few weeks. He’s right in the middle of writing up his own thesis which is due in a few weeks, so under the circumstances, I couldn’t be more grateful for his help. 🙏
And to Alan Richards, with his crazy impressive writing skills, for taking the time and effort to guide me in how to better express my thoughts. Not to mention the many, many, many conversations that have lead us both to such interesting and exciting day jobs. May the walks and conversations continue.
And with that, I’m going to enjoy this well earned waffle and a cup of tea. 😁
